Driving

Two nights ago a friend of mine and I were out for dinner.  On our way home we witnessed a serious car accident.  A driver of an SUV ran a solid read light and collided with a small car with four young women in the car.

One of the women was seriously hurt and taken from the seen by ambulance on a spine board with suspected spinal injuries.  The other three women and no doubt the driver of the SUV are all by now experiencing the not so pleasant sensations of whiplash injury.

The driver of the SUV understandably felt horrible for causing the accident.  But none the less the accident did occur because he was not paying sufficient attention to his driving.  In fact he was talking on his cell phone seconds after the accident occurred, so he may well have been talking on the phone when driving.

I have been treating motor vehicle accident injuries for more than 10 years.  To often, these are horrible, life altering injuries that I would not wish on my worst enemy.

Please, please, please drive with due care and attention so you do not become another one of these people that have their life permanently changed (and definitely not for the better) because of a motor vehicle accident injury.
