Philosophy

I am proud of my professional service helping people achieve their potential through physical therapy.

My own emphasis is that I believe a scientific approach is necessary to understand how the body works, and that with this technical knowledge, I am better able to diagnose and facilitate your body’s potential to heal.

The uniqueness of Physiotherapy is that the theory is grounded in medical science. All the techniques and approaches we use to help treat clients are evidence based and depend on scientific research to be proven effective.

For example, Physiotherapists must have a deep knowledge of Anatomy of the body, Physiology, Biomechanics, Pathology.

  • Anatomy is knowing the major components of the body and how they are structured.
  • Physiology is an understanding of the internal workings of the body and the contributing elements (such as cellular components) that enable the bigger parts to function and enable healing to occur.
  • Biomechanics is the application of anatomy. This is the understanding of how parts of the body (such as muscles, bone, and joints) combine to allow movement, function, and performance.
  • Pathology is understanding how the body is supposed to work and also what the body does in abnormal conditions such as in situations of disease, aging, and injury. This is essential to help know when something is wrong; and how to read the signs to understand why its wrong.

This deep knowledge about the human body helps inform the right therapeutic technique to use in a given situation.  Experience allows the integration of knowledge into workable treatment plans to get the best results.
